4th of July Stroll Thru History

Join us for a walk on the 4th of July! The walk has two 5 km loops beginning and
ending at Esther Short Park.
The East Loop will take you thru the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site where you will see the reconstructed Old Fort Vancouver & Officer’s Row, which includes the Marshall House, O.O.
Howard House, and Grant House. The
Northwest Loop will take you thru some beautiful old Vancouver neighborhoods & parks, and the historic Uptown commercial district.
Maps are provided and the route is marked.
The distances are 5, 10 or 11km, rated 1A, easy (mostly paved, flat sidewalks)
Self-guided: start the walk between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Group walk: there will be a group walk for the 5 and 10 km distances, both starting at 9 a.m.
Our walk will begin on the east side of Esther Short Park (on the Columbia Street side between 6th and 8th Streets) at the commemorative stones for the city’s Discovery Walks which Vancouver Volksporters (now known as Vancouver Walking Club) had a part in facilitating. Parking is available on-street or in the nearby Park N Go parking garage on 6th St between Columbia and Washington. Suggested donation for the walk is $3 per person –it helps keep our club going and able to provide events in the community!

The event is finished.
