What an instant estimate can — and can’t — tell you
An automated estimate is a good starting point. It looks at what comparable homes near you have sold for recently, and it usually lands in the right range.
What it can’t see is your home. The kitchen you redid last year, the view off the back deck, the roof that’s due, how your street shows on a Saturday morning — all of that moves the number, sometimes by a lot.
