Ridgefield

North Clark County, WA

Ridgefield sits in northwest Clark County, about 20 minutes north of Vancouver right off I-5, and it has become one of the fastest-growing communities in the region. The draw is a rare mix: a genuinely historic small-town Main Avenue, a nationally significant wildlife refuge at its doorstep, and a school district with a strong, well-earned reputation.

That combination has pulled a lot of families here, and the growth shows — new neighborhoods, a coming Clark College satellite campus, a new medical facility, and big plans for the Port’s waterfront site downtown. Through all of it, the Old Town core along Main Avenue has held onto its walkable, community-first character.

The honest trade-off is that Ridgefield is changing fast. New construction commands a premium, and the I-5 interchange and main roads can bottleneck as the population climbs. If you want nature, good schools, and a real downtown — and you’re comfortable buying into a community still finding its footing during rapid growth — Ridgefield is tough to beat.
