Fircrest

East Vancouver • Clark County, WA

Includes Fircrest, Evergreen, Hearthwood

The Fircrest area (including Fircrest, Evergreen, and Hearthwood neighborhoods) is know for their name sake. The neighborhood is surrounded by tall evergreen trees, providing the neighborhood with shade and beauty….and a lot of pine droppings! This area is developed around the 70s and later with a handful of newer subdivisions. Hearthwood, in particular, has a lot of split level homes due to the slope and rolling hills. The streets are nice and wide but not all of them have sidewalks. The location is central to everything you need in Vancouver including the Cascade Park Library and my favorite community center, Firstenburg Community Center, where you can access the gym, pool, rock climbing wall, and a variety of exercise and activity classes.

Living Here: Pros & Cons

What's Great

  • Established, quiet streets with mature, tree-lined character
  • Served by Evergreen Public Schools, with Fircrest Elementary inside the neighborhood
  • Central east-Vancouver location close to Andresen and Mill Plain shopping and dining
  • Strong, settled sense of community
  • Good mix of move-in-ready and updateable homes

Honest Trade-offs

  • Many homes are older and may need updating or maintenance
  • Very little new construction, so inventory can be limited
  • Busier arterials like Andresen bring traffic and noise near the edges
  • No major commercial center or town square within the neighborhood itself
