One of my personal favorite neighborhoods, Cascade Park East has everything I love: homes with no HOA, easy access to restaurants and shops on 164th, easy access to Highway 14, bike friendly, mature neighborhood with lots of trees. In the middle of the neighborhood is the Fairway Village Golf Course and Retirement Home. The 9 hole golf couse is affordable and is surrounded by well maintained 55+ homes.
Most homes in this area were established in 70s and 80s. Bella Vista is a true hidden gem. The neighborhood association fought to have oversized lots and you can feel the pride of ownership as you drive through the neighborhood.

This scenic 9-hole public course is perfect for golfers of all skill levels. Known as one of Southwest Washington's hidden gems, it offers great course conditions year-round in a relaxing atmosphere. Not to mention, the course was designed by renowned Pacific Northwest golf architect and PGA professional Gene “Bunny” Mason. You're bound to have a great time at Fairway Golf Course!

Honest Trade-offs

SE 164th Avenue and SE Mill Plain Boulevard are both heavily traveled — expect real traffic at peak times
Lots of strip-mall and big-box shopping; convenient, but not a charming, walkable main street
Housing stock is mostly 1980s — well-kept, but you may be buying something that wants updating
Car-dependent, and about 8 miles from downtown Vancouver
